Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real surname Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho in October 21st, 2016, was released via Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Her uploads continued music online in 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as from Sweat It Out, in July 21st, 2015. The following year, her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. On December 8 it was announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she performed alongside Cozz for The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP named Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017 and also did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she opted to appear in two songs featuring her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles called the No One and Pdigree. She performed with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of the 16th of November, and she released the song on her own single to accompany Her debut album. On February 20, 2019 the music video was made available for the song. The track has received more than three million hits on YouTube in its first week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
